A 42-year-old woman riding an e-bike was fatally struck by a pickup truck on a highway ramp near Toronto on Friday night, leading to a closure of the on-ramp and an appeal for witnesses by the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP).
The tragic incident occurred on the southbound McCowan Road ramp leading to Highway 407 westbound in Markham around 7 p.m. The OPP confirmed the details of the collision and emphasized the severity of the situation with the closure of the ramp.
