York Police issue public alert and urge caution
Authorities are on high alert after Neal Bowie, a man deemed a high-risk violent offender, was reported unlawfully at large in Vaughan, having breached a court order.
A Breach and a Disappearance
During a daytime outing with his group, Neal Bowie failed to return. He was last spotted around 1:30 p.m. on Sunday near Major Mackenzie Drive West and Jane Street in Vaughan.
The Criminal Investigations Bureau of York police has since been actively engaged in the search for Bowie, soliciting the aid of the public to ascertain his current location.
Public Urged to Exercise Caution
Due to Bowie’s classification as a high-risk violent offender, the York police have advised the public against approaching him if he is sighted. “If seen, do not approach, and call 9-1-1 immediately,” warns the official police statement.
Residents in the Vaughan area, especially in the vicinity of Major Mackenzie Drive West and Jane Street, are being encouraged to remain vigilant and to report any suspicious activity or sightings directly to the authorities.
