Marking its 25th installment, the CPKC Holiday Train begins its tour this afternoon, passing through several towns in eastern Ontario. The schedule includes stops in Finch at 2:30 p.m., Merrickville at 5:00 p.m., Smith Falls at 6:30 p.m., and Perth at 8:00 p.m. The journey continues on November 28 with stops in Belleville at 9:15 a.m., Trenton at 10:45 a.m., and Brighton at 11:30 a.m. The train will then proceed westward through southern Ontario, including Bowmanville, Oshawa, and Toronto, on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Concerts and Celebrations

At each stop, the train, adorned with festive decorations, will host a half-hour concert featuring the Canadian band Anyway Gang. These free concerts, performed from the train’s brightly lit stage, promise to add to the holiday spirit in each city.

A Tradition of Giving

The CPKC Holiday Train is more than a symbol of holiday spirit; it plays a crucial role in supporting local food banks. As it tours Canada and the United States from November 20 through December 19, the train raises money for local food banks and encourages attendees to contribute donations. Since its inception in 1999, the Holiday Train has raised over $22.5 million and collected more than five million pounds of food for community food banks across North America.
